North Carolina native and Wilmington, NC local, Ana Brown has always felt a calling to the ocean throughout her life. Self-taught artist and muralist, Ana picked up the brush after her grandmother left them to her. Not knowing where her art would lead her with each stroke of the brush, Ana felt her calling more and more…to give back to the community and to take things that are often overlooked and transform them into something truly special. You will find this in murals displayed at Codington Elementary and Pine Valley Baptist.

SeaJules was born after the ocean beckoned to her once more. Ana was very close to her sister, Jules, and after her passing Ana knew she was being called to create a legacy for her sister. The calling was twofold…create a race in Jules’ memory, The Blue Ribbon Run and to take the often overlook oyster shell and transform it into something truly beautiful. Ana found herself strolling the beach collecting oyster shells and creating works of art that now adorn people’s homes and fill their hearts all in honor of Jules.
